Announcing Macitt - Where Mac Users Can Share What's News
San Francisco, CA (PRWeb) January 12, 2007 -- Macitt, a new Mac news site that allows registered users to submit Mac-related items from around the Web, debuted today at Macworld Expo in San Francisco. The site, www.macitt.com, combines news with social networking features like user-generated content and participation.
Macitt users will be able to tag and comment on stories and see how many times a story is read by other Macitt users. The site will also allow users to enter up to ten RSS feeds from other sites, making it a personalized homepage for the Mac community. Users can add feeds from other Apple sites to keep track of news, or from non-Apple related sites.
RSS is built into every aspect of the site. Macitt users can view feeds by tag, category, and by username allowing them to have their own unique RSS feed to allow their friends to keep track of the news that matters to them.
"Mac users are among the most savvy and sophisticated people on the Web," said Hadley Stern, founder of Macitt. "It's about time there was a site that combined the best and most cutting edge social networking technology in a news format targeting Mac users and Macitt is just that site."
Macitt will be holding monthly contests throughout 2007. Users can enter the contests by using the site - up to 9 entries a day. SmallDog Electronics sponsors January's prize, a Mac-mini. Other features will be rolled out throughout the year, including guest entries by well-known Mac writers and bloggers.

Macitt is a user created news site for the Mac community. Registered users can submit any story from around the web they think other Mac users would find interesting.
