Full Disclosure Network® Reality TV News Series "Jamiel's Law & the LAPD" (Convicted Illegal Gangs & Deportations)
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 10, 2008 -- In a new Full Disclosure Network® special series, Jamiel Shaw, Sr. and U.S. Army Sgt. Anita Shaw, parents of slain 17 year old high school football star Jamiel Shaw II, describe the circumstances of the cold blooded murder of their son just three doors from their home. They describe how the arrested suspect, Pedro Espinosa, should have been deported because he was in the country illegally and has been convicted of previous crimes. Espinosa has been described by police as an "18th Street criminal alien gang banger" who was early released from L.A. County jail after serving only four months for assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a police officer.
In this Full Disclosure series, the Shaws also reveal the unusual and unexpected reactions from elected officials in Los Angeles following their endorsement of a new law (Jamiel's Law) to change what they say is "an unacceptable policy known as LAPD's Special Order 40." That policy prohibits police officers from asking criminal alien gang members if they are in the United States legally.
An eight minute preview of the series is available here (from YouTube) or from the Full Disclosure website at http://www.fulldisclosure.net/Programs/517.php.
Here a few quotes from the program:
* Jamiel Shaw, Sr.: "My son has never been arrested, never been in jail, never suspended from school. He was a really nice person."
* Jamiel Shaw, Sr.: "The Deputy District Attorney told me she was going to label (my son) as a gang member because they needed a motive (for the murder)."
* Sgt. Anita Shaw says City Officials tried to silence their criticism of LAPD Special Order 40: "It started with the Mayor's office, then Herb Wesson and the City Council" "We got the brush job from them, they didn't want to hear us."
* Jamiel Shaw, Sr.: "Councilman Herb Wesson sent for us, he said 'shhh, do you know you are going to open up a hornets nest?' People will be picketing."
In this series Jamiel Shaw, Sr. also describes how Los Angeles County District Attorney, Steve Cooley, removed the Deputy District Attorney from the murder case, saying his Deputy was "not following policy", a claim that allegedly conflicts with previous official statements from the office. See the video (3 min) with statements from L.A Superior Court and District Attorney on Immigration Policy here: http://www.fulldisclosure.net/Blogs/56.php.
